Meet Dr. Nishant Taneja
Dr. Nishant Taneja is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founding Director of the Indian Eye Institute and Laser Center in Tirana. He is regarded as one of the world’s leading vitreoretinal surgeons and is a recognized expert in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal and optic nerve diseases.
Dr. Taneja began practicing as an ophthalmic surgeon in New Delhi in 2005. From 2005 to 2009, he worked as a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon at Shroff Charity Eye Hospital in New Delhi and I Care Hospital in Noida. Since 2009, he has practiced full-time in Albania, treating both common and complex eye conditions.
In refractive surgery, he specializes in PRK, Femto LASIK, and SMILE PRO procedures and has helped thousands of patients reduce their dependence on glasses. He also has more than 15 years of experience in refractive lens exchange using premium intraocular lenses, as well as Visian ICL and IPCL phakic lenses. Under his leadership, Albania’s first ZEISS VISUMAX 800 system was installed in March 2025.
